Tiroda Thermal Power Plant

Adani Power Maharashtra Limited is the foremost coal based Thermal Power Plant. The plant has an approved capacity to generate 3300 Megawatt power through its 5 units of 660 Megawatt capacity. The first unit of the thermal power plant was commissioned in 28th August 2012 with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt and later other units were commissioned. The plant attained complete capacity with the commissioning of fifth unit.

Tiroda Thermal Power Station is located at the Tirora Village of Gondia district in the state of Maharashtra. The thermal power station has a total capacity of 3300 Megawatts, which comprises of five units of 660 Megawatt plants. All the units fall under the category of Supercritical Technology.

Tiroda Thermal Power Plant is commissioned in 2012 September. The Approved Capacity of this Thermal Power Plant is 3300 Megawatt. The Installed capacity of this thermal power plant is also 3300 Megawatt. The status of this thermal power plant is Operational. The primary fuel used for the production of power is Coal. There are five units in operation and they are from Unit 1 to Unit 5. There are 3 phases with Phase 1 has first and second units, Phase 2 has third unit and Phase 3 has fourth and fifth units. The first unit is commissioned in 2012 September with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. The second unit is commissioned in 2013 March with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. After that the third unit is commissioned in 2013 June with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. The fourth unit is commissioned in 2014 April with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. Finally, the fifth unit is commissioned in 2014 October with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. The source of financing for the project is done by the Standard Chartered Bank and China Development Bank Corporation and Industrial Bank.

How to Reach: Tiroda Thermal Power Plant is located in the Tiroda village of Gondia district in the state of Maharashtra. You can arrive at this thermal power plant via Road, Rail or Air. There is no bus routes available from major cities and towns to Tirora. So the nearest bus station is Gondia. Regular Bus Services are available throughout the day from Gondia to different parts of states. You can hire taxi services to Tirora, which is about 41 km away from Gondia. Tirora railway station is the nearest railway station, which is well connected with other railway stations of states. Tirora does not have an airport. Nearest airport is Sonegaon Airport in Nagpur, which is 84 kilometer away from Thermal plant.
