Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Plant
Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Plant is considered as the first Super Thermal Power plant in India. It is located in the Suratgarh village of Ganganagar district in Rajasthan. The power plant is owned and operated by the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL). There are 6 units in Operation with an installed capacity of 250 MW for each unit. So the total installed capacity of Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Plant is 1500 MW.
Kota Super Thermal Power Plant
Kota Super Thermal Power Plant is erected in the west bank of Chambal River in Kota. The power plant is managed by the RVUNL. There are 7 units in operation with an entire capacity of 1240 Megawatt. The first unit is commissioned in January 2011. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The unit size is 1240 Megawatt (2 x 110 MW, 3 X 210 MW, 2 X 195).
Chhabra Thermal Power Plant is located in the Chowki Motipura village of Baran district in Rajasthan. The status of the power plant is Operational. The plant was commissioned in 2010. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is coal. There are 4 units in Operation with an installed capacity of 250 Megawatt for each units. The overall capacity of Thermal power plant is 1000 Megawatt.
Kalisindh Thermal Power Station
Kalisindh Thermal Power Station is located in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The power plant is owned and operated by the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. The status of the power plant is running. The first unit of plant is commissioned in 2014 March. There are 2 units in Operation with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt for each units. The overall capacity of the thermal power plant is 1200 Megawatt.
Giral Lignite Power Plant is located in the Giral town of Barmer district in Rajasthan. The power plant is owned and operated by the RVUNL. The status of the power plant is operational. The power plant is commissioned in 2003.The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Lignite Coal.
Gas based Power Station:
Dholpur Combined Cycle Power Station
Dholpur Combined Cycle Power Station is located in the Dholpur district in Rajasthan. It is a gas fuelled power station. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor for the project is BGR Energy Systems Ltd. The total installed capacity of the thermal power plant is 330 Megawatt. The power plant is having 2 units of 110 MW Gas Turbine and one unit of 110 MW Steam Turbine.
Ramgarh Gas Thermal Power Station
Ramgarh Gas Thermal Power Station is located in the Ramgarh town of Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan. It is a gas fuelled thermal power plant. The power plant is owned and operated by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. The power plant has an installed capacity of 430 Megawatt.
Hydroelectric Power Station:
Rana Pratap Sagar is a hydroelectric power station, located in the Chambal River at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan. The power plant has a total installed capacity of 172 Megawatt from 4 units of 43 Megawatt plants.
Jawahar Sagar Dam is a hydroelectric power plant, erected at Chambal River in the Kota district of Rajasthan. The power plant has a total installed capacity of 99 Megawatt from 3 units of 33 Megawatt plants.
Mahi Bajaj Sagar Dam is a hydroelectric power plant, located at about 16 kilometers from Banswara district in Rajasthan. The power plant has a total installed capacity of 140 Megawatt from four units.
