Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited is situated at Anjanwel of Guhagar Taluk in the district of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. The location of the power project is spread across 1700 acres of land of hilly terrain. It is a joint venture of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, Gas Authority of India Limited and the Government of Maharashtra. Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited holds country's prevalent gas based power station and also the LNG regasification terminal at Dabhol. Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited holds a United Power generation and Re-gasified LNG capacity. The power station is one among the country's biggest gas based power station.

The shares of this power station is hold by NTPC, GAIL, Maharashtra State Electricity Board and other financial institutions. The NTPC & GAIL contributes 25. 51 percentage of its equity. The rest of the stock is hold by Maharashtra State Electricity Board and several other financial establishments.

Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited was founded in 8th July 2005. It has an approved capacity of 1967 Megawatt. Its installed Capacity is 1967 Megawatt. The status of this power plant is operational. The primary fuel used for the production of power is Natural Gas. The power plant is a joint venture of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) and Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). The beneficiary states from this power plant were Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is also beneficial to Indian Railways which supplies 500 Megawatt of Power.

The Unit Sizes of Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited were 1967 Megawatt. There are three units in operation and they are Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3. The installed capacity of Unit 1 is 640 Megawatt that is using steam turbine for power generation. The installed capacity of Unit 2 is 663.5 Megawatt that is using steam turbine for power generation. Also the installed capacity of Unit 3 is 663.5 Megawatt using steam turbine.
