Panipat Thermal Power Station I

Panipat Thermal Power Station is commissioned in 1st November 1979. The approved capacity of this thermal power plant is 440 Megawatt. The installed capacity is also 440 Megawatt. Currently the status of the thermal power plant is Not Operational. For the improvement of the performance of Unit 1 to Unit 4, all units are now under Renovation and Modernization. Panipat Thermal Power Station II is commissioned in March 1989. The approved capacity of this thermal power station is 920 Megawatt. The installed capacity is also 920 Megawatt. The status of the thermal power plants from Unit 5 to Unit 8 are operational. The primary fuel used is Coal. The type of power plant is Super Critical. The owner of the thermal power plant are Haryana Power Generation Corporation. All the units are operational. The unit sizes of this thermal power plant is 920 Megawatt. There are 4 units in Operation. They are from Unit 5 to Unit 8.

In Stage 3, the fifth unit is commissioned in March 1989 with an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt. While in Stage 4, the sixth unit is commissioned in March 2001 with an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt. In stage 5 and Stage 6, the Unit 7 and Unit 8 are commissioned respectively in the years of September 2004 and January 2005.
