Lanco Kondapalli Power Station Andhra Pradesh

Lanco Kondapalli CCGT Power Plant is located in Kondapalli a town in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State, India. 1466 MWe is the overall capacity of Lanco Kondapalli CCGT Power Plant and regional grid is the connection for electric power grid. This power plant is mainly used as the Base load. This is one of the top power generating plant in Andhra Pradesh. Natural Gas is used as the primary fuel and Naptha is used as the secondary fuel in this plant. GE is the turbine Manufacturers for this plant. The Gas Supply (MMSCMD) required for 90% PLF is 3.3 and the linkage is 3.5. The operation is done on 15 year PPA with Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (AP TRANSCO).

The substation associated with this plant is connected to the output of second unit to PGCIL - Nunna substation 20 KM from plant via dedicated 400 kV D/C line. GAIL (India) Ltd and M/s Reliance Industries Ltd based on a long term contract (1.12 MMSCMD) is the fuel provider for this power plant. The main source of water for this plant is from the Upstream of Prakasam Barrage on the River Krishna.

This power plant has 8 different units. The first three units are commissioned on 18-October-2000 with an installed capacity of 112 MWe for first 2 units and 126 MWe for third unit. the fourth and fifth units are commissioned on 2009 and 2010 with the total installed capacity of 233 and 133 Mwe respectively. The sixth and seventh units are commissioned on 2012 with total installed capacity of 240 MWe. the eight unit is also commissioned on 2012 with an installed capacity of 252 MWe. GT-1 Frame 9E, GT-2 Frame 9E, ST-1, GT-3, ST-2, GT-4, GT-5, and ST-3 are the Turbine Model/Type for units 1 to 9 respectively. LANCO Kondapalli Power Private Ltd. is the owner of the company and the type of ownership is an IPP type. Genting LANCO Power ( India) Pvt Ltd is the Operating Company for this plant.
