Kopili Hydro Power Plant

Kopili Hydroelectric Project is erected in the Umrangsotown ofDimaHasao District in Assam. Kopili Hydroelectric Project is commissioned in 4 July 1988. It has an installed capacity of 275 MW. The type of project is Hydel. The status of the power plant is Operational. The source of water for the generation of power in the hydroelectric power plant is Kopili. The hydroelectric region of the Power Station is North Eastern HE Region.The power plant is owned and operated by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited.

The beneficiary states are the north-eastern states of India, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur,Nagaland,Mizoram, Tripura andMeghalaya. The number of turbine used are Five and the type of Turbine is Francis. The Turbine and Generator of the Power Station is manufactured by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited India. The Unit Sizes of the power plant is 275 Megawatt. There are five units in Operational and they are from Unit 1 to Unit 5 in 2 Stages. In Stage 1, there are four units commissioned and in Stage 2, the fifth unit is commissioned. The first to fifth units are commissioned in 4 July 1988, 21 July 1988, 5 March 1997, 17 June 1997 and 26 July 2004 respectively.
