Adani Power Rajasthan Limited (APRL) is the biggest power generation plant in the state of Rajasthan at a particular location with a production capacity of 1320 Megawatt (2 units X660 Megawatt). It is coal-based thermal power plant working on the principle of supercritical technology. For instant connectivity, Kawai thermal power station has a 1500m lengthy air strip and is exploiting state of the art technology for environment management. The plant is sited at an area of 812 hectares of land, with an installation of major equipments like boilers, cooling towers, reservoirs, turbines and so on. The plant comprises of 30 hectares for township and 25 hectares for water pipeline.

Kawai Thermal Power Plant is a coal-fired thermal power plant situated in Kawai town in Atru Tehsil of Baran district of Rajasthan. The power plant is functioned by the Adani Power. Kawai Thermal Power Station was commissioned in the month of January in 2013. It has an approved capacity of 1320 Megawatt and also has the installed capacity of 1320 Megawatt. The status of this thermal power plant is operational. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The coal is sourced from various divisions of Coal India Ltd. The water is sourced from a dam constructed through various pipelines. It is recycled and reprocessed in the plant operations. The Ash generated in the plant operations are used by the subsidiary industries. They collect the bottom ash, which is stored in an ash pond, that is specially designed for the purpose.

The owner and operator of thermal power plant is Adani Power. The beneficial states of this thermal power plant are Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana. The Unit Size of this thermal power plant is 1320 Megawatt (2 unit x 660 Megawatt). There are two units in operation and they are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The first unit is commissioned in 2013 January with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. After that second unit is commissioned in 2014 January with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt.

How to Reach: Kawai Thermal Power Station is located in Kawai village in Atru town of Baran district in Rajasthan. It is situated at a road distance of sixteen kilometres from the main town of Atru that is about 50 kilometre south of Baran city and about 300 kilometres from the capital city (Jaipur) of Rajasthan. The neighbouring villages of this thermal power plant were Dara, Kawai, Chhatrapura and Nimoda. You can reach this destination via Road, Rail or Air. Transport Buses and Taxi services are available from Atru and other nearest towns to Kawai Thermal Power Station. Salpura is the nearest railway station, which is about 3 kilometre away from power station. Kota is the well-connected major railway station, which is about 120 kilometres away from Kawai. Baran does not have an airport. Nearest airport is Sanganeer Airport, which is about 213 kilometres away.
