JSW Vijayanagar Power Station

JSW Vijayanagar Power Station is a coal fired thermal station erected at Toranagallu village in the district of Bellary in Karnataka. The power plant is owned and functioned by the JSW Energy Limited. The coal for the plant is imported from the coal mines around the country.

Is has an installed capacity of 1460 Megawatt (2 units x 130 Megawatt, 4 units x 300 Megawatt). The first two units of 130 Megawatt starts its function in the year 1999 and rest of the two units of 300 Megawatt each started its function in the year 2009. Two more units were established later with 300 Megawatt for each unit and became functioning in the year 2012 to meet the energy necessity of JSW steel limited.
