Bhadradri Thermal Power Station

Bhadradri Thermal Power Station is a proposed power plant project located near Edulla Bayyaram at Manuguru in the Indian state of Telangana. It is also called as Manuguru Power Station which is a coal fired power station in Telangana.

Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao put the foundation stone for this venture on 28 March 2015. The project initiated to resolve the power disaster in Telangana. Telangana state Government is planning to make this plant functioning within 3 years. Plant construction including the manufacture of Boiler, Turbine and Generator is done by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. The union ministry of Environment and Forest has given environment clearance to the venture on 15 March 2017 and BHEL has started the Engineering, Procurement and construction works which would complete the construction of the first Unit by 2019.

The Expected Commission Date of Bhadradri Thermal Power Station is 2019. The Approved capacity of the thermal power plant is 1080 Megawatt and the installed capacity is also 1080 Megawatt. The Status of the thermal power plant is Operational. The source of Coal for the generation of power is from Domestic Coal of SCCL Mines and Imported Coal of Indonesia. The primary fuel used in the thermal power plant is Coal. The type of plant is Subcritical. The Boiler, Turbine and Generator Manufacturer of the power plant is by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

The power plant is owned and operated by the Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited. The beneficiary states of this thermal power plant is Telangana and its neighbouring states. The Unit Sizes of the thermal power plant is 1080 Megawatt (4 x 270). There are four units in Operation. They are from Unit 1 to Unit 4 with an installed capacity of 270 Megawatt for each units.
