Barsingsar Thermal Power Station

Barsingar power project is a 250 megawatt lignite fired power station owned and operated by the Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) of India. This Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) is erected at the Barsingsar town of Bikaner district in the state of Rajasthan in India. The first unit having 125 Megawatt and the second unit having 125 Megawatt was commissioned on 28 June 2010 and 25 January 2011 respectively. Lignite for the power plant is being sourced from the Barsingsar Mine domestically, which is owned and operated by Neyveli Lignite Corporation of India. The coal mines was commissioned in October 2009.

Barsingsar Thermal Power Station is commissioned in December 2011. The Approved Capacity of the thermal power plant is 250 Megawatt and the installed capacity is also 250 Megawatt. The status of the thermal power plant is Operational. The source of coal for the generation of power is from Barsingsar Mines. The primary fuel used is coal and the type of coal is Lignite. The power plant is owned and operated by the Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC). The type of plant is Subcritical. The Manufacture of Boiler, Turbine and Generator of the power plant is by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). The beneficiary states of this Barsingsar Thermal Power Project are Rajasthan and its neighbouring states.

The Unit Sizes of the thermal power plant is 250 Megawatt (2 units x 125 Megawatt). There are two units in operation and they are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The first unit is commissioned in 28 June 2010 with an installed capacity of 125 Megawatt and the second unit is commissioned in 25 January 2011 with an installed capacity of 125 Megawatt.
