Baner Hydroelectric Project
Baner Hydroelectric Project has an approved capacity of 12 Megawatt. The installed capacity is also 12 Megawatt. The Type of Project is Small, since it is less than 25 Megawatt and greater than 3 Megawatt. The status of power plant is Operational. The source of water is from BanerKhad River and the Basin is Indus River. The Hydroelectric region is North Hydroelectric Region. The power plant is owned and operated by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board under State Government.
The beneficiary states of the Thermal power plant are Himachal Pradesh and its neighbouring states. The power project was completed in 1996 and soon the commercial operation of the project also started. The total number of turbine used is 3 and the capacity per Turbine is 4 MW. So the total installed capacity would be 12 Megawatt. The type of Turbine used is Pelton. The Unit Sizes of the power plant is 12 Megawatt (3 unit x 4 Megawatt). There are 3 units in Operation and all the units are commissioned with an installed capacity of 4 MW for each units.
How to Reach:Baner Hydroelectric project is located in the Kangra district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. For reaching the destination of power plant, you can travel by Bus, Train or Taxi.
