Baner Hydroelectric Project

Baner Hydroelectric Project has an approved capacity of 12 Megawatt. The installed capacity is also 12 Megawatt. The Type of Project is Small, since it is less than 25 Megawatt and greater than 3 Megawatt. The status of power plant is Operational. The source of water is from BanerKhad River and the Basin is Indus River. The Hydroelectric region is North Hydroelectric Region. So the total installed capacity would be 12 Megawatt. The type of Turbine used is Pelton. The Unit Sizes of the power plant is 12 Megawatt (3 unit x 4 Megawatt). There are 3 units in Operation and all the units are commissioned with an installed capacity of 4 MW for each units.

How to Reach:Baner Hydroelectric project is located in the Kangra district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. For reaching the destination of power plant, you can travel by Bus, Train or Taxi. The local buses and taxi cars are available from the nearest well-connected cities (Kangraand Shimla) to the power station. There is no railway route to Baner from Shimla and Kangra. So the nearest well-connected railway stations from Banerare Kangra Railway Station and Shimla Railway Station. Shimla is located at about 100 kilometre from Baner Power house, whereas Kangra is located at about 185 kilometre from Baner Power house. Kangra and Shimla Airports are the nearest airports from power station.
