Akrimota Thermal Power Station
Akrimota Thermal Power Station is a lignite-based thermal power plant located in the village of Nanichher in Lakhpat Tehsil, Kutch District, and Gujarat. The power plant is run by state-owned Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation. The power plant has an installed capacity of 250 MW (2 x 125 MW).
The name of the project is Akrimota Thermal Power Station. The power plant is commissioned in 31 March 2005. The Approved capacity of this thermal power plant is 250 Megawatt. The Installed capacity of this thermal power plant is also 250 Megawatt. The status of this thermal plant is working or Operational. The source of coal for the generation of power is existing Panandhro and Akrimota mines. The water source for the cooling of plant is nearby Ocean. The primary fuel used is Lignite. The coal type is Lignite. The boiler manufacturer of the plant is ALSTOM CFB and the turbine Manufacturer is Ansaldo Energia of Italy. The owner and operator of the thermal power plant is Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited under the State Government. The beneficiary states of this thermal power plant are Gujarat and its neighbouring states.
The unit size of this thermal power plant are 250 Megawatt (2 units x 125 Megawatt). There are two units in operation. They are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The first unit is commissioned in 31 March 2005 with an installed capacity of 125 Megawatt and the Second unit is commissioned in 19 December 2005 with an installed capacity of 125 Megawatt.

You can arrive this thermal power station via Road, Rail or Air. Transport Buses and Taxi Services are available from the nearest cities or towns to the Power Station. There is no Railway Station and Airport in the circle of 10 km from Nani Chher. So the nearest well-connected Railway Station is Bhuj Railway Station, which is about 45 kilometres away from the Railway Station. Bhuj Railway Station is well-connected to all other major railway stations of India. Bhuj Airport is the nearest airport which is about 153 kilometre away from the Power Station.
